Claudius DAN (M’90, SM’05) received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering from the Electronic and Telecommunications Faculty of the University “Politehnica” of Bucharest, Bucharest, Romania, in 1986 and 1996, respectively. He has been with the same Faculty since 1990, focusing on the development of mixed signals integrated circuits and software tools for IC design. In 2005 he became a Full Professor at the Department of Electrical Devices and Circuits, within the Electronic and Telecommunications Faculty, teaching “Advanced Analog Blocks”, ”CAD for IC Design”, “Software Tools for Microelectronics” and “Analog Intrated Circuits”. Since 2016 he is Head of the Devices, Circuits and Electronic Architectures Department. He is also Head of the Advanced Microelectronics Master Program developed in cooperation with Infineon Technologies. He was also involved with O2Micro IC Design Company between 2001 and 2012. During that period he designed more than 10 mixed signal ICs that were commercially sold by the company. His main area of research includes CMOS IC design and software tools for electronic design. He cofounded the Laboratory of Microelectronic Systems (LSMe) in 1991. This group was focused on research activities regarding design, modeling and characterization of mixed signals ICs. He is the author or coauthor of 9 books and more than 70 papers published in technical journals and conference proceedings. He also holds two patents including one US patent. Prof. Dan was member of the Data Conversion technical committee of the ESSCIRC international conference between 2013 and 2018.
